A wonderful book: The cry of the gull.

Have a good Sunday, in this post (and subsequent) I want to tell you about a wonderful book. The book I chose is titled "The cry of the gull" written by Emmanuel Laborit. I will begin with a general descizione go into the book and take back this party and the latter 's what I thought were most important. Above all, will highlight the notes that the author spares no controversy, and in my opinion I think is constructive.
The author is a girl with a severe auditory sensory deficit. In spite of his condition, he won the prize in 1993 and subsequent years Molier writes "The cry of the gull as well as pursue a career as an actress. This book was recommended in 2005 while attending a training course as an interpreter of LIS from my teacher, Arabella.
The author recounts his life and it is as if the divide in two parts: one that goes from birth until the age of seven years and the second phase characterized by the discovery of sign language.
She tells of the enormous difficulties of communication that had to be small, but at the same time, the very strong desire to do so. He wanted to understand what was happening around him, what made her different from others, but all of these questions have been answered only at the age of seven. At one point the father hears through the radio to express themselves is a deaf person who uses an interpreter that translates to high voice that he marks with his hands. The man is Alfredo Corrado founder of Visual Theatre, the Theatre of the Deaf of Vincennes. Talk in Washington of the existence of 'Gallaudet University, which is reserved for the deaf. This thing has shocked everyone as never before that his father had heard about the existence of a language that might emerge from silence to his daughter and that would enable it to communicate. The father rages against his colleagues, doctors, compared with pediatricians, compared to speech therapists and teachers who reported that only a spoken language could help her daughter to emerge from isolation. Since I have access to that language becomes clear to all Emanuelle but above all realizes that having an identity. Until then, he spoke of himself in third person. In fact, for those who are born with their name at the head (perhè heard several times) as a continuously repeated by the parents, it is difficult to figure out what you can try in his situation. Once learned his new language, because the language of signs is a real language, not a simple code, Emmanuelle begins a second life.
continue the description of the book in future posts. Hello everyone and happy Sunday.
