Notes: The concept of time
Good Sunday evening to all, it's cold outside and raining and I take this opportunity to dedicate a little bit to all those who are interested in Italian sign language. In the last post I spoke quickly what is the concept of time. Today I will try to develop it, I'll do it with the help of a book I used when I followed the course of LIS "method of sight" (exercise book) Group Silis kappa editions.
concept of time:
To indicate tenses (past, present, future) in LIS, you must use a sign of time at the beginning of the sentence. Once the tense of the verb, it is understood that everything that follows in the sentence is carried out at that time, until you specify a new one.
To understand the signs of time and help to imagine a time line in the neutral space (the neutral space I have already spoken in the first post.). Almost everything which refers to the future moves forward, almost everything that relates to the past is moving backwards, everything that relates to this is marked in the space immediately in front of the body when it refers to action soon completed, follow the sign to the verb "done".
To refer to specific times, usually the signs of time in the past, present, future are combined with specific signs of days, weeks and months.
This means that, if I want to mark the "last week", past the sign is associated with the sign "a week". Another way to specify the time by incorporating a number. That is to mark the concept in two hours, "the forward movement that indicates the future and the number two are both incorporated in the sign" now. "As always I realize that the concept is difficult enough without seeing the signs, but I hope will serve as the basis for those who decide to deepen the study of sign language. Now I greet you going to dine there the salmon trout (cooked by me) waiting for me. In the next post I will explore the concept of the negative sentence. Hello everyone.
